Oatmeal Scotchies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla or 2 tsp grated orange peel (about 1 orange)
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt (optional)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups Quaker® Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
  • 1 12oz. package (2 cups) Nestle Toll House Butterscotch Flavored Morsels

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 375° F.
  2. Beat butter, sugars, eggs, & vanilla until creamy
  3. Gradually add combined flour, baking soda, salt, & cinnamon; mix well.
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients
  5. Drop by level measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 7 – 8 min. for a chewy cookie or 9 – 10 min for a crisp cookie

Makes about 4 dozen.
